MOHALI: Not satisfied with the cops' probe, Captain (retd) Kailash Kumar Shoree, father of slain food and drug administration officer Neha Shoree, said he will file a protest petition in the high court (HC) as and when the Punjab Police files closure report in the murder case. The action came after the police filed a status report with the HC mentioning that they may file a closure report and go in proceedings of cancellation of the FIR by next hearing date slated for January 29. Punjab Police on Friday submitted a status report with the HC after Neha's father approached the Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh alleging drug mafia behind his daughter's killing. Kailash Kumar Shoree said, "We believe that Punjab Police is not probing the case religiously. If they file closure report in the case we will challenge it and file a protest petition.
